About Us

Engineering at Taalnet Group

Our Engineering Department offers a full range of programmes from N1 to N6. The curriculum combines theory, practical workshops, technical drawing and mathematics. Students develop real industry skills that prepare them for trade qualifications, apprenticeships and advanced technician studies. Each programme focuses on problem solving, safety, critical thinking and practical competence.

Hands on Workshops

Practical, workshop based training in machining, welding and vehicle systems, with structured practical assessments and real industry projects.

Industry Placements and Partnerships

Work experience placements with local employers that let students apply classroom learning on site and build workplace readiness and professional networks.

Specialist Technical Labs

Access to electrical, automation and materials labs for hands on practice in electrotechnics, fault finding and fluid power systems. Labs support both theory and project work.

Student Support and Career Services

Guidance on applications, trade test preparation and career planning, plus CV help and interview coaching to move students into apprenticeships and employment.

About Us

The technical industry requires people with a thorough understanding
of specialist knowledge. Training for a technical course at Taal-net
Training Institute will give you theoretical knowledge and skills to enter
and excel in the technical world. We offer nationally accredited
technical courses from NI –N6 in selected technical disciplines. Other
Engineering courses are done through distance learning where you
do not need to attend classes and we deliver learning material to your
door step whilst we give you all proper learning support, allow you to
connect with our tutors and fellow students. Talk to us today and
register for a technical course of your choice.

Programme Overview

Our Engineering Faculty offers a strong blend of theory, practical training and real world application. Each programme is designed to prepare learners for industry, apprenticeships and further study. Learners develop technical confidence, problem solving ability and hands on competence through structured training and guided workshop experience. The sections below give a clear picture of the engineering fields available at Taalnet Group of Schools.

Our Mechanical Engineering and Fitting and Turning programme gives learners a strong mix of theoretical knowledge and practical skill. It prepares learners for technical careers, further study and industry apprenticeships by building competence in mathematics, engineering science, drawing and precision machining. The programme is delivered over progressive trimester levels so learners develop confidence and independence as they advance from foundational theory to advanced workshop practice.

Our Motor and Diesel programme equips learners with the knowledge and skills needed in modern automotive and diesel technology. It combines strong theoretical foundations with hands on practical training. Learners progress through N1 to N3 levels, building confidence in diagnosing, repairing and maintaining petrol and diesel engines, electrical systems and mechanical components. This programme is ideal for learners who want to enter the automotive industry, work in workshops, pursue apprenticeships or advance toward motor and diesel trade qualifications.

The Boilermaking and Welding programme prepares learners for careers in metal fabrication, structural steel work and professional welding. Learners develop strong practical skills supported by sound theoretical knowledge. The programme progresses from N1 to N3, giving learners the ability to interpret drawings, fabricate components, understand material behaviour and perform high quality welding in a safe and professional workshop environment. This programme is suited to learners who want to work in fabrication workshops, construction, manufacturing or industrial engineering settings.

Our Light Current programme gives learners a strong foundation in low voltage electrical systems, electronic controls, communications and instrumentation. The course combines classroom theory with hands on laboratory work so learners gain practical experience with circuits, signal processing, digital systems and diagnostic techniques. The programme prepares learners for careers in telecommunications, instrumentation, electronics maintenance and technical support while providing clear pathways to further study and trade qualifications.

Our Mechanical Engineering programme at N4 to N6 gives learners a thorough blend of theory and practical workshop experience. The course builds from core scientific and numerical skills at N4 into specialised technical subjects and system level thinking by N6. Graduates are prepared for technician roles, workshop supervision and further engineering study.

This programme from Taalnet Group of Schools prepares learners with hands on skills and technical knowledge needed for a successful start in the engineering trades. It combines rigorous theory with workshop practice so learners gain mechanical intuition, electrical basics and the drawing and maths skills used every day by fitters, millwrights and maintenance technicians.

This programme from Taalnet Group of Schools trains learners in power systems, industrial electronics and practical electrical installation skills used in industry and heavy current applications. It combines classroom theory with workshop and lab practice so learners understand how to design, install, maintain and diagnose electrical systems found in factories, plants and commercial buildings.

This programme from Taalnet Group of Schools prepares learners for careers in building, construction and civil works. It combines classroom theory with practical drawing and workshop practice so learners gain the technical knowledge and site ready skills used by builders, surveyors and construction technicians.
